Darlene is a blessing to everyone she come in contact with. She has been my nephews aid for two years and in that time the change in him has been like the difference between daylight and dark. Wesley has Autism and is non verbal but Darlene has connected with him in a way that no one else ever has. The changes in him are amazing! Darlene works with other kids too but she is like a member of our family now. Wesley got to go on his first field trip without a parent this month and that would never of been possible without her. The aids like Darlene are so often over looked and they should be uplifted, recognized and awarded for all they do. I compare it to this; it doesn't matter how good a chef can cook, if you have bad service from a waitress that's all you remember. Darlene is the BEST and deserves this win and so much more!
I have attached a pic of Darlene with my nephew Wesley Darlene is past retirement age and we are truly blessed she is still working because without her Wesley wouldn't be where he is education wise.

I was placed in Mrs. Casey's Kindergarten classroom for my student teaching placement at Morehead State University. As soon as I walked into Mrs. Casey's Classroom, she made me feel welcome! She introduced me to the 26 smiling faces as, "their other teacher, Miss. Megan." It is always an overwhelming feeling to step into another teacher's classroom and try to take control, without stepping on any toes, but I never had any fears when it came to Mrs. Casey. She was always willing to go above and beyond to help me in any way that she could. When I became overwhelmed with creating lesson plans, while we were stuck at home for yet another week of snow, unable to discuss things with her, she welcomed me into her home to work together and plan for the week back to school. When any of our Kindergarteners were absent, she called home during her first free second to find out what was wrong and what she could do to help. She truly puts her students first! Thanks to my wonderful mentor teacher, I feel that I am truly ready to have my own classroom. I hope to be half the teacher that she is! She truly deserves to win! :)

Mrs. Smith has been devoted to my daughter for 2 years now. She has special needs, and can be a difficult child in general. However, Mrs. Smith not only helped her through out 2nd grade, she actually chose to take her on as a 3rd grader as well. We have family members who do not enjoy spending time with our daughter and Mrs.Smith has always gone above and beyond to make her feel welcomed and comfortable in school and inside the classroom. She is continuously changing her approach and goals with our daughter and us as a family. All the teachers at Ashland are EXCELLENT. I would love a way to show Mrs. Smith our gratitude for being such an accepting person and for taking a personal interest in our child who unfortunately lacks much support outside our immediate family. We adore her and our world could benefit from having more "Bethany's". She undoubtedly touches many children lives in a positive way. I never see her without a smile on her face! :) We LOVE YOU Mrs. Smith!

Amy really cares about her students . She goes above and beyond her duties to make sure each and every student has confidence, and knowledge about her classes . Amy loves to have a one on one relationship with her students , regardless of previous knowledge or current knowledge about the subjects. She also takes the time to allow each student to succeed at their own pace, to learn in their own way . Amy is a true asset to the college, she knows her career and field and very knowledgable about the subjects she teaches .

Mrs Lisa Leach is a kindergarten teacher who's classroom is very structured with a lot of love. She greets everyone one of her students every morning with a big smile and a big good morning greeting. When she is teaching her classroom she makes learning fun which keeps the kids attention. She takes the time to work with every student and let's each and everyone of them know that they are important and loved. Mrs Leach has a heart of gold she has patience beyond belief. I have a little boy who has many challenging issues and can be a handful, but through it all she has been there to support him and understand his needs. Because he was having behavioral issues he could of been sent to another school but Mrs Leach said no let me work with this child I Love him. And not many teachers would deal with a behavioral child's issues and took him under her wing like she has. And I have a lot of respect for her for all she has done for this young man. And when a child needs discipline in her class she does it with love and care. And encourages them to do better. If you ever get the chance to meet her or observe her classroom you will she what an amazing teacher and individual she really is. It's been a rough year but through it all she has been a great role model for this student. I could never thank her enough for all she does for each and every student.

Stephanie is a very wise lady.
She is so caring and a great person in general.
She loves all of her students as if they were her own children.
Stephanie took me under her wing my senior year when I was going through struggles in my personal life.
I am so blessed that I know her and her caring ways will stick with me for the rest of my life.

Mr. Maude is very dedicated to making the school year a success for each child in his room and determined to do whatever necessary to meet each child needs. My son had a very difficult year before he reached Mr. Maude's room. My son was excited to go to school again and all because of Mr. Maude's enthusiasm and interest in each child in his room! I know my son will remember his year with Mr. Maude for a long long time. I feel he deserves every award that he could get, i would guarantee you he is one of the best 3rd grade teachers around!

I have a son who HATED math all through school! When he reached high school I was so worried. I knew Micheal and how he taught. He has military roots and I was afraid that Austin would look at him like a new recruit would look at a drill sargent. Austin came home after the first day of Freshman year and I knew I had it made. All he talked about was Mr. Whittenburg and how he made math understandable! He loved math from that point till Jan. when Mr. Whittenburg had to leave and go to Fort Knox to train new recruits to go over seas. That was 3 years ago and finally Senior year we lucked out and got Micheal for math again. Austin was thrilled! His interest in Math soared again. Mr. Whittenburg had a goal at the beginning of the year for all his students to pass the compass. Austin took it for the first time and missed it by 1 question, he is scheduled to take it again and I know without a dought that he will pass it with flying colors with all thanks going to Mr. Whittenburg. That is why Micheal Whittenburg deserves to be teacher of the month!

She goes the extra mile for the kids. She spends her "time off" working and buying school items for the kids-out of her own pocket. On a teachers salary this is very commendable! She wants the each child to learn what they should. Shes very loving and kind to all of the kids. It takes a special person to do what she does.

She gave our Daughter Isabella the best start in school. Isabella describes her as smart and sweet. To her and to us (her parents) she has been the best teacher ever. Isabella is now in 6th grade and still thinks of Mrs. Pleasants as her favorite teacher. She had her in Kindergarten and first grades.

Robbie believes in a hands on experience in his science classroom, whether singing about the clouds or acting out scientific principles, he makes science exciting. His role also involves being an academic coach and serving as a site based representative.
He often spends his own money to buy materials for activities in the classroom. Whether it be corn starch, flour or other common items to make science fun.
Students with disabilities are encouraged and are active participants. Even to those who cannot see, science involves all the senses.
